Most Memorable Greatest Music Videos (87-73)

87.Talking Heads- Once in a lifetime (1981)
The video for 'Once in a lifetime' came in at number 87. This video is also shown in New York Museum as a peice of art. The movements in the video were created after they had visited a mental hospital and observed how the patients acted. Which goes with the meaning of the song as the song is pondering the reality of life and that maybe you have no control over what happens in your life.

79. New order- True Faith (1987)
This video is a perfect example of disjunture which Andrew Goodwin speaks about, disjuncture is when the meaning of the song is completly ignored in the music video, this is what happens in this video when a french dance choreographer directed this music video. He had never made a music video before and had no idea how to create one. MTV stated that they would not show this video unless the band was shown playing the song so they put clips of the band performing at Glastonbury.

78.Godley and Creme- Cry 91985)
This video was very memroable as it used an extreme close up of every actor/actress that they had casted and merged all their faces in and out of each others. To do this they needed evryones head to be in the exact same place so they came up with an idea to put a saucepan on the wall so they knew where to place their head. Also while editing they discover they could use fading techniques to mix facial features and at this time this was very revalutionary.

73. Basement Jaxx- Where's Your Head At? (2002)
This video was a big hit due to the disturbing nature of the monkeys cast in the video, although the monkeys themselves were not disturbing once their faces where removed and replaced with the bands faces it got rather grotesque.
