Stereotypes in Music Videos: White People and Women
When we look at how white people are seen in music videos compard to black people you see that they are viewed in a much better light than black people. To prove this you only have to look at the amount of controversy that someone like Miley Cyrus has creatd through acting very sexual and dancing in a sexual way. Howeve if you look into how black woman dance in their videos it is not to dissimilar to Miley. For example Beyonce, Beyonce is know for dancing this way, and she is also known for her curvy body and shaking her 'booty' this is very similar to Miley howeverit cause so much controversy as people expect Beyonce to do this because she isblack where as Miley is not hense why it has been so controversial.
This is not usually how white women are normally betrayed in music videos, stars such as Katy Perry and Ellie Goulding do not perform the same way which Miley does. That is because they follow the stereotypical way in hich white women act in music videos. The act as very sensible independant women who are not objectified by men. Having this stereotype in place again made Miley's videos created even more of a shock.
