Stereotypes in Music Videos: Black People.

A stereotype is a preconcvied idea about a person due to their race, area that they live in and also their religion. Stereotypes are often used in music videos, for different races and different sexes. For example:

Black Men
Black men in music videos are normally seen rapping with lots of jewellery and baggy clothes surronded by women wearing barley anything. They try to make black men look as 'street' or as 'gangster' as they can to appeal to the fans of the rap genre of music. An example of this would be 50 cemt's 'Candy shop'

Black Women
In music videos for black women they are usually viewed with no a lot of clothes on and they would be dancing in a provocative manor. For example in Rihanna's most recent video 'Pour it up' were she is dancing in a very sexual way with money.
